🌍 #WRIExplains how land use and climate change fuel each other.

Land-use change drives major GHG emissions, and now climate impacts are speeding up the loss of forests, grasslands, wetlands and farmland.

A dangerous feedback loop we can’t ignore 👉 https://t.co/7eVBBplTU3 https://t.co/70ZIeXhHBK

💧Our #C3S Climate Bulletin shows November 2025 was wetter than average across the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, northwestern Russia and much of the Balkans, with heavy rainfall in Albania and Greece. Storm Claudia contributed to wet conditions in western Europe.

RT @EUEnvironment: What is making sea levels rising faster than ever? Us.

Human activity has been the main culprit since 1970. At first, it was mostly ocean water expanding as it warmed. Now, melting ice from Greenland, Antarctica, and mountain glaciers has taken over as the biggest factor. https://t.co/sMhHsrV4ms

🌎 In November, the IUCN Forest and Grasslands Team had the honour of joining IUCN's delegation at the 30th convening of the Conference of Parties (#COP30) to the UNFCCC.

🌴With the conference taking place in Belém, Brazil—a gateway to the Amazon Rainforest— terrestrial ecosystems like forests and their intertwined relationship with global issues, such as climate change, were important topics at the forefront of many discussions. COP30 reminded us just how important protecting, conserving, and restoring these precious ecosystems are in the fight against climate change.

🌐 We are incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with so many stakeholders and partners who are making a difference, from local communities to global conventions.

📚 Read the story below to learn about how the IUCN Forest and Grasslands Team engaged at COP30, as well as reflections from our team members and partners who were on the ground in Belém: https://t.co/LzK2MYyeCT
