The United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) is a global movement aimed at supporting and scaling up efforts to prevent, halt, and reverse the degradation of our global ecosystems and raise awareness for successful restoration. The Science Task Force (STF), established by IUCN, was created to act as an authoritative science reference point for the UN Decade and its efforts. The STF provides scientific knowledge for the UN Decade's advisory board, strategy group, and World Restoration Flagships, acting as a support system and peer-reviewing network for the entity.

🐠STF Members have worked to published and collaborated on a number of papers covering science and restoration. Several of these papers have been highlighted by the STF spotlight blog series, which showcases the latest literature relevant to the UN Decade.

To learn more about STF's work supporting the UN Decade's, read the blog posts here:

The #ParisAgreement has driven real progress.

There is still more to do, but the world has come a long way.

Countries’ national climate plans (NDCs) are:

🔹 Stronger
🔹 More investable
🔹 Better aligned with national development strategies

RT @WorldResources: "Ten years ago, we witnessed something akin to a miracle."

At COP21 in 2015, countries forged a one-of-a-kind commitment: #ParisAgreement. It’s served as the backbone of cooperative climate action ever since.

A decade later, we're off track. But we must keep its spirit alive.
