Addressing the ceremonial opening at #COP28 the #IPCC Chair @JimSkeaIPCC stressed IPCC’s aspiration for the seventh cycle to make effective use of the best available science to deliver focused, policy-relevant reports in an inclusive fashion that represents all perspectives.

I was honoured to address the #COP28 high-level opening.

As IPCC Chair I stated that the scientific community is ready to support the outcomes of #COP28 in shaping #ClimateAction based on science. But science by itself is no substitute for action.
