How can a glacier go from this, to this, in only 7 years?
Isn’t climate change a process that takes millennia to happen?
Not if WE PUSH IT OVER THE THRESHOLD.
In climate research this threshold is called tipping point and once it’s reached, there's probably no going back.

Cadman glacier in West Antarctica reached a tipping point in 2018 after the arrival of unusually warm ocean water, which caused the ice shelf to unground. Without the ice shelf to protect it, the glacier started melting at a sped-up rate.
