Does Earth’s biggest iceberg affect sea level?

Icebergs are glacial ice that flow to the sea, break off, and float away. The mass of the iceberg displaces water and raises sea level. Iceberg A23A broke off Antarctica in 1986, so that’s when it added to sea level rise.

Earth's largest iceberg is on the move 👀 🧊

This iceberg hasn’t moved much since it broke off an ice shelf in 1986. But lately it’s been traveling more quickly, migrating northward toward warmer waters.
