If you manage a VPS , this is regarding CVE-2025-55182 (React2Shell), a security vulnerability that was disclosed on December 3, 2025, with a "Critical" severity rating. We recommend you review the information below to determine any actions that may be necessary to mitigate this vulnerability on your VPS infrastructure.
 
This vulnerability is present in the following versions of React Server and Next.js:

- react-server-dom*: 19.0.0, 19.1.0, 19.1.1, and 19.2.0
- Next.js: 14.3.0-canary, 15.x, and 16.x (App Router)

Any framework or library bundling the React Server Components implementation is likely affected. This includes, but is not limited to:

Next.js
Vite RSC plugin
Parcel RSC plugin
React Router RSC preview
RedwoodSDK
Waku

If not mitigated, this vulnerability may allow an unauthenticated attacker to perform arbitrary code execution.
 
Who is Affected

Customers using a vulnerable version of this software might be affected. We are informing you so that you can identify if your infrastructure is vulnerable and review the available remediation options.
 
 
How to Remediate

If you are running a vulnerable version of React Server or Next.js the only definitive mitigation is to update to a patched version. Patches are available to fix the underlying vulnerability, and we strongly recommend you update to the listed versions or newer as soon as you are able.  

Given the severity of this vulnerability, we urge you to prioritize these updates.
