Imo we live in a realm, there's a crystalline grid of energy and mind that everything manifests out of in its own way.

Mindfulness really boils down to awareness of cause and effect
The shortcut to wariness of consequences to our desires is to have an authentic love of divinity
Seeking that everything expresses to its full divine potential, not just people, but all things
At this stage of the cycles of the world, base desires are rewarded materially and serving God via serving man is discouraged
But this is also a profound opportunity - all the eternal philosophies teach that life is a process of subduing the lower principalities for the sake of the higher; ie: nature of sacrifice
The way we know we're actually sacrificing, and isn't just jerking off our ego is when there's no thought of ourselves in the act
Is easy to justify emotions based on resentment for "the greater good".
Is not easy to recognize that life itself is sacred, even life held by people that use their power in the world to create suffering.
As soon as we lose that sense of the sacred, the true will to protect the expression of God itself in the world, we destroy ourselves. That's how these "controllers" got to where they are today
This is what's taught in the Bhagavad Gita when Arjuna is forced into war with his blood relatives that he loves deeply:
taking life or causing suffering can only be done as something absolutely necessary, with full recognition that we're asserting jurisdiction over divinity granted to another human, regardless of how depraved they are.
That's why Jesus' teachings state we serve God by serving man. "Whatever you do the least, you do to me"
Wealthy people who scheme for the suffering of people all believe "they're just cattle, they don't matter"
For us to act truly against them, and have all the winds of the spirit of law and justice at our back, we must look at them with the same weight as if they're our own children.
Every second we forget this fact, the gods will recognize our frequency as as a reflection of the same desire for death that possesses our enemies in the first place.
If we want to make things right, and earn the "blessing of the gods" (all this really means are dimensions of the life force), we show our willingness to sacrifice in acts of charity for the downtrodden. We put in blood, sweat and tears for the direct alleviation of suffering.
When we orient towards the miraculous, the true will to restoration of the world, we earn greater and greater capacity to "remove the blockages" of evil.
