Why do we love idealising so much we can't stop it? Lying to ourselves that something's good "deep inside" when it sucks big time.
There's no perfect form of anything or anyone; nothing can be absolutely pure, every saint is flawed and every demon can be open to charity.
"They meant well..." you DON'T know that. You can't possibly know that. I'm just as much of a bad person as I declare, as my actions declare.
We don't have to build idles, expectations so high that if they don't get met, we'll fall off hard enough not to reach the damage control.
The only affection that's real is the one where the flaws are mentioned but overlooked and loved because we're usually more than that.
