A new federal bill co-sponsored by U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) would restrict American colleges and universities from giving admission priority to prospective students who are related to alumni or donors.
The bill, which was co-sponsored by Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), would amend the Higher Education Act to prevent accredited private and public universities from using legacy admission. That’s important because colleges must be accredited for students to receive federal financial aid.
The practice of giving relatives of alumni an edge in admission is common at elite schools. College administrators say it helps encourage alumni to give money and that legacy students are more likely to accept admission offers.
Affirmative action quotas have been eliminated to assure only the most qualified are accepted into college. Kudos to the Supreme Court for recognizing the discriminatory practice and eliminating barriers.
Todd Young is retaliating for his donors within the industrial complex by sponsoring a bill to undermine American family legacy of education. Imagine being forced to send your children to a different educational institution other than your alma mater 👩🎓 based upon an unconstitutional law being proposed.

Voters in Hamilton and Allen counties approved levies that will generate hundreds of millions of dollars for four school districts over the next eight years. Carmel Clay and Hamilton Southeastern both won by large margins giving them the ability to keep using local tax dollars to pay teachers. Each district will get $24 million a year.
As a drunken sailor, public schools rape and pillage taxpayers for additional funding. There is little oversight, accountability, or results of the public education system by throwing copious amounts of money 💰 at an ineffective system. If you don’t agree to the demands or argument of more money, you’re vilified as not being a supporter of education.

Hyundai has doubled down on its goal to introduce electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) taxis. Its air mobility division, Supernal, is preparing to start test flights next year, while a manufacturing plant in the US is also being planned.
But before those, Hyundai's Supernal will show a futuristic taxi prototype at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this upcoming January. The eVTOL taxis, designed for commuter use, will be capable of cruising up to 120 mph and accommodating one pilot and four passengers.

Attorneys working on former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election regarded an appeal to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as a “key” to their success, according to emails provided to congressional investigators and made public Wednesday.
The emails from December 2020 show the lawyers discussing ways to delay the certification of results in Georgia, a closely contested state won by Democrat Joe Biden. One lawyer, Kenneth Chesebro, suggested that an appeal to Thomas, as the justice who handles emergency appeals from Georgia, could “end up being the key here.”
“We want to frame things so that Thomas could be the one to issue some sort of stay or other circuit justice opinion saying Georgia is in legitimate doubt,” Chesebro wrote. “Realistically, our only chance to get a favorable judicial opinion by Jan. 6, which might hold up the Georgia count in Congress, is from Thomas.”
