ILEARN scores largely stagnant as less than half pass end-of-year assessment

Less than half of Indiana’s third through eighth graders are passing their end-of-year assessments. This year’s ILEARN results were largely stagnant.
The ILEARN measures students' progress in multiple subjects from third to eighth grade. It was first administered in 2019, but due to disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic, the IDOE considers 2021 scores to be the baseline.

Overall, 41 percent of students scored proficient in English language arts (ELA) this year and 40.7 percent achieved proficiency in math.

“We have to ensure that our students have the foundations in reading and math, and it is urgent, to be ready for the opportunities and options we’re trying to develop at the high school level,” said Indiana Secretary of Education Katie Jenner.

Almost all grade levels saw modest increases in ELA scores. Third grade and eighth grade were the exceptions.

This year’s third graders experienced their first few years of school during the pandemic, when many classes were taught online. Jenner said that could have caused some of the delays in their progress.

However, third grade reading scores have declined for more than a decade in Indiana. The conversation around reading has mostly centered around the state’s reading exam, the IREAD-3, but Jenner said the ILEARN also evaluates students’ reading skills.
“We have enough data to know when they’re struggling in third grade, that struggle will continue, there’s targeted intervention, which will be incredibly important,” she said.

COLBERT COMMENT: So who is responsible for the horrendous statistics? Katie Jenner, Indiana Secretary of Education, is an APPOINTED position, it previously was an ELECTED position but now is appointed by the Governor. Look at EVSC’s data, it literally is in the single digits of those students that are proficient in reading and math. The lowest scores correlate with low income, single parent households. It should be noted the dual parent households in affluent areas are still disgraceful.

Those responsible for our children’s education continue to deflect and provide excuses for their incompetency.

It’s outrageous that the Teachers Union, the EVSC Administration, and the State Education Board continue to circumvent their responsibility to provide results for the financial investment of public education. The system is broken and inept. The voucher system is a pathway forward to provide educational opportunities equitably.

COLBERT COMMENT: Attached is a list of participants of of the DEI committee. Why aren’t there any “conservatives” on this board? There’s a few RINO’s represented, but not real conservatives that understand the agenda of DEI. These are the same individuals that support BLM and wore their masks 😷 during the Plandemic. Every non-US parent of a baby born in the U.S. has natural citizenship rights for himself and his child based upon the citizenship laws of his home country. Those rights cannot be usurped just because a citizen is a student in America.

In Donald Jasper Harris’ case, that is Jamaica. Jamaican law is very clear about Kamala’s citizenship at birth.

Birth parents have to have a permanent domicile and residence in the United States to be consumed citizens.

No. student residence is not considered a permanent domicile/residence. Rather, for a college student. Example: A home residence is considered his legal domicile while his student abode is temporary.

Another example. A student cannot list her student housing residence in another state in order to qualify for in-state tuition. Likewise, a student cannot claim a student address as permanent domicile to meet the Wong rule and enable his or her newborn to become a U.S. citizen.

The Wong Kim Ark decision created a simple test for jurisdiction for which all the elements must be true before it applies:

1. Child was born in the U.S.

2. Birth parents are citizens of, and subject to the laws of, a foreign country.

The reason why things are being rolled out in the fashion we are witnessing is because of the reasons listed above. They have to make this look a certain way. They know Kamala Harris can not legally hold office. Which is why they can not make it appear as though she is officially taking the driver seat. Because then this would put people in government in the hot seat. So she will be doing everything Joe Biden is supposed to be doing. But they can not declare him dead because then they would be forced to refer to K. Harris as the president?

Do you all understand? This is why the weird phone recordings are being reported. It's like being in limbo at this stage. Because everyone in the media is getting behind to support her. But can not refer to her as president. This is why we will never get an announcement the Joe Biden is dead until maybe next year.
