One of my most vivid memories of McCain’s 2008 race against Obama was watching him at one of the debates waving to someone in the crowd.

This was after almost a year of campaigning. With that claim being flashed before the public repeated, often by McCain himself - how because of the extensive torture he underwent, he could not lift his arms above his shoulders.

Well at this debate McCain forgot himself. He spends about 5 seconds waving enthusiastically at somebody in the crowd at a distance, his arm had gone straight up over his head.

You could see it on his when he realized he wasn’t supposed to be doing that. This embarrassed look came over his face and he quickly dropped his arm to the side.

The rest of the campaign, he never made that mistake again.

But I saw it. And I remember.
