Guatemalan national arrested in BATON ROUGE, LA in fed child sex trafficking case

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Guatemalan national, who authorities say was in the United States illegally, has been arrested in Baton Rouge in connection to a child sex trafficking case.
** Special Agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested Belter Manolo Arana Bautista, 36, on a federal charge of sex trafficking of children, said Sarah Loicano, the Public Affairs Officer with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
** Loicano said federal authorities had been searching for Bautista after he was indicted by a federal grand jury in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
** Bautista was arrested Thursday, May 19, 2022, and booked into a Louisiana jail to await possible extradition to Wisconsin.

🔹The former president & CEO of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce is charged with lying to a mortgage lender about his assets while seeking a loan for a $1.5M home in the San Bernardino Mountains.
🔹Todd Ament, 57, was charged in a 99-page criminal complaint with making false statements to a financial institution while seeking funding in late 2020.
🔹The affidavit in support of the criminal complaint outlines a plot in which Ament – with the assistance of a political consultant who was a partner at a national public relations firm – devised a scheme to launder proceeds intended for the Chamber through the PR firm into Ament’s bank account. This infusion of cash – which appears to have been a loan from the PR firm engineered by the political consultant – allegedly influenced the lender’s decision to fund the mortgage.
🔹An investigation revealed that Ament & the political consultant had a close relationship for several years, one that included leading a small group of Anaheim public officials, consultants & business leaders.
