New vaccine may be option for troops with religious concerns
WASHINGTON (AP) — A COVID-19 vaccine that could soon win federal authorization may offer a boost for the U.S. military: an opportunity to get shots into some of the thousands of service members who have refused other coronavirus vaccines for religious reasons.

The DOD says they have a religious accommodation process, but in practice, it's simply "theater" when it comes to the COVID shots.
This is part of our argument in the brief we filed at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of two service members in Navy SEAL 1 v. Austin who were granted a preliminary injunction for being denied religious exemptions from the COVID shot mandate. The Department of Defense (DOD) appealed the injunction to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
In addition to these two plaintiffs from the Navy and the Marines, Liberty Counsel continues to pursue class certification to protect all service members.
Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “The evidence is clear that these courageous service members have a strong case. The Department of Defense has no defense to its unlawful violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.”

What we currently know about the Comirnaty labeled vaccines out for distribution:
- Select Coast Guard installations are receiving a limited supply (other branches may soon follow)
- Grey Cap NDC Code 0069-2025
- lot # FW1331
- At least 22 packages distributed (approx 10 vials per package)
- Some packages arrived with the remote temperature monitoring devices in an alarm state. (They arrive at Detrick frozen and are put in deep freezers there. Then when they ship them to bases they only send them refrigerated)
- Packages are being shipped out from Ft Detrick
