At least two explosions were reported overnight on Thursday in Brasília, between the buildings of the Brazilian High Court and the National Congress, according to the G1 news portal. Preliminary information indicates that one person was killed.

The explosions occurred 20 seconds apart, media reports said, and the area has since been cordoned off.

Firefighters and military explosives specialists are currently at the scene, according to the report.
