🇺🇸⚡️— The FBI disrupted an alleged ISIS-inspired terrorist attack planned for New Year’s Eve in North Carolina, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

➡️Authorities said the suspect, 18-year-old Christian Sturdivant of Mint Hill, was arrested and charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Investigators stated that Sturdivant had been planning the attack for about a year and intended to target a grocery store and a fast-food restaurant using knives and other weapons.

➡️According to the DOJ, the suspect wrote a handwritten plan referred to as “New Years Attack 2026” and expressed a desire to carry out violence in the name of ISIS. During the investigation, he allegedly communicated online with individuals he believed were ISIS supporters, some of whom were undercover law enforcement officers.

➡️The FBI said weapons and written materials linked to the planned attack were found, and officials emphasized that the operation prevented any harm to civilians.
