Alledgedly the police did an appalling job of gathering and presenting evidence, deliberately... and on the instruction of the defendants' legal team. If there's no evidence to convict, the trial collapses.

Not only did they walk free, they were awarded £250,000 and £300,000 in tax dollars, plus they were given £400k in legal aid.
