The techies always claim “benevolent” AI is their goal. Right.

Remember the “benevolent” AI in the excellent movie “I, Robot” that concluded the only way to keep humans safe was to lock us all up (and KILL anyone who wants to stop that plan) in classic cost/benefit NUMERICAL logic?

Remember HAL 9000 from the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”? It found out the crew was lying to Hal, thus concluded (LOGICALLY) it must be ok to lie to the crew. Ultimately HAL determined (through LOGIC) that if the crew was going to sabotage the Mission then the crew had to be murdered, as the Mission was far more important than these few crew members.

We NEED Humans to make the decisions.
