GDP numbers published by the Govt are “inflation adjusted”. So if the govt INFLATION Calculation is too LOW, then they say GDP GROWTH was higher than actual. The actual Inflation rate for 2022 was 16.2% — more than double the CPI published. So GDP “Growth” is now being vastly OVERSTATED.

In plain words — PRICES went up, a LOT, and they counted much of that as GDP GROWTH instead of what it actually was: loss of purchasing power!

Govt numbers are manipulated to make the statistics look ROSY. Economist John Williams publishes the REAL numbers using the raw data, but the much more honest calculation methods used by BLS in the 1980’s.

The Economy continued SHRINKING in 2022. As we all knew.
