Micro-businesses

در چند دههٔ اخیر،‌ بسیاری از صاحب‌نظران به این نتیجه رسیده‌اند که بهتر است کسب‌و‌کارهای بسیار کوچک از کسب‌و‌کارهای کوچک جدا شوند.
توسعهٔ اقتصادی و اجتماعی باید از لایه‌های بسیار پایین جامعه آغاز شود. دولت‌ها و سایر نهادهای مالی و سیاست‌گذاری، بیشتر روی «بازیگران بزرگ اقتصاد» متمرکز هستند.

میکرو بیزنس را کسب‌و‌کاری در نظر می‌گیرند که کمتر از ۱۰ کارمند دارد.
گاهی هم ۵ یا ۴ نفر را به عنوان سقف تعداد کارمندان یک Micro-business تعریف می‌کنند. تعریف میکروبیزینس بر اساس میزان درآمد هم در برخی نقاط دنیا وجود دارد. مثلاً در ایالت کالیفرنیا، هر کسب‌و‌کاری که میانگین فروش سالانه‌اش در سه سال اخیر از ۲/۵ میلیون دلار بیشتر نباشد، میکروبیزینس در نظر گرفته می‌شود.

Surgical Tape

Researchers at MIT have created a surgical tape that can seal leaks and tears in the intestine. The off-the-shelf product has been designed to replace sutures, which are difficult to sew in the gut and can cause scarring or leaking. The adhesive patch is biocompatible, and the researchers designed it so that it will biodegrade after healing has occurred, without sticking to nearby tissues or triggering inflammation.

It fills the gap between the age when parents use baby monitors and the age at which parents give their kids phones.

Even with a high likelihood of parents working from home, it’s unrealistic to assume they can keep a constant watch on their children. You never really know when a child requires your attention… although that’s where the Littlebird steps in. Designed as a wearable for toddlers, Littlebird helps parents track their kids’ whereabouts, health/activity, and sleep patterns. The idea came from Seattle-based mother-of-two, Monica Plath, whose own experiences helped her create a device that allowed her to keep tabs on her young ones while they were with the babysitter. Plath partnered with NewDealDesign who helped take LittleBird from a concept to a fully developed product.

The Braille Smartwatch

The Dot Watch weighs only 29 grams but is packed with potential. It uses the smallest Braille cell technology in the world, developed b Dot Inc. It connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth so you can be notified of who is calling. When you receive a text on the phone, the message is translated to Braille and is communicated to the Dot Watch for you to “read”. The touch controls on the watch face are intuitive, and the Auto-Scroll is customizable. Messages can be saved so you can check on them later.

صنعت شامل مجموعه‌ای از بنگاه های اقتصادی است که نیازهای یک بازار مشخص را تأمین می‌کنند.
صنعت را می‌توان بر اساس محصول یا نیاز تعریف کرد.

هنگامی که از اصطلاح صنعت استفاده می‌شود، اغلب یکی از سه معیار زیر مورد توجه قرار می‌گیرند:

همه‌ی کسب و کارهایی که یک نیاز مشخص را تأمین می‌کنند.

تفاوت سفارشی سازی و شخصی سازی در این است که تغییر در محصول با تصمیم و تشخیص چه کسی انجام می‌شود:
