در محیط‌های سازمانی، و به طور کلی در همهٔ ساختارهای سلسله مراتبی، برای ارتقاء انسان‌ها به یک جایگاه بالاتر، به جای این که به توانمندی‌ها و شایستگی‌های مورد نیاز در جایگاه جدید نگاه کنند، به توانمندی‌ها و دستاوردهای آن‌ها در جایگاه قبلی توجه می‌کنند.

فردی جراح خوبی در یک بیمارستان بوده، برای جایگاه مدیریت بیمارستان هم او را گزینهٔ مناسبی می‌بینند. با این منطق، همهٔ انسان‌ها به تدریج در سلسله مراتب به سمت بالا می‌روند، تا به نقطه‌ای برسند که برای کار فعلی‌شان شایسته نباشند. فقط در این وضعیت ناشایستگی است که دیگر نه سازمان او را بالا می‌برد و نه خودش انتظار ارتقا دارد.

Digital Twins

The digital twin is a technology through which we make a virtual model of a physical object in the real world and analyze its merits and demerits before rolling out the final product in the hands of the customer.

It is a modern-day technology for modern-day market research that uses Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for product simulations. However, a digital twin is more advanced and is built for real-time simulations.

IBM shows a great example of a digital twin i.e a wind turbine with sensors providing important data about the weather conditions & energy output of its digital twin. An important feature that makes digital twins different from other simulations is that you can run a host of simulations with decent precision, also the new insights can immediately be relayed back to the wind turbine.

SkyDrive’s flying vehicle

💥This personal flying vehicle will be super quiet, compact & emission-free, and can fly at an altitude of 500 meters carrying a maximum load of 500 Kg at 100km/h.

From health emergencies to day-to-day deliveries SkyDrive aims to use the airspace to get goods and people delivered in just no time. This would be a super evolution in the personal vehicle industry. At CES 2022, a prototype model SD-03 was showcased by SkyDrive, and how they intend to introduce it as an air taxi in near future

Coral Reef Printer

Approximately 25% of all marine species are known to live on coral reefs, therefore preserving them is extremely important for the ecological balance of oceans. Nevertheless, the process is time-consuming, and reefs are rapidly disappearing.😢😢

The 3D coral reef printer that scans an existing reef to identify its core properties and replicate them to form a new coral reef. This one-of-a-kind printer was designed in partnership with the Technion Institute of Technology. The printer uses Terracotta clay replacing plastic filament commonly used in regular 3D printers Furthermore, coralline algae can easily grow on the clay because of its porous nature.

A further advantage of printed reefs is that they can be stacked and modularized, allowing us to rebuild the vast area of coral reefs while maintaining the natural structural variety.😍🥰

Re-Printable Paper

Nanyang Technological University researchers in Singapore have developed a new paper type made from pollen rather than wood pulp. Even though pollen produces itself in masses, this paper can still be reused, making it a more environmentally friendly material.

While testing, the paper is treated with an alkaline solution that helps in removing all the printed material without causing any damage. As a result, this paper was used at least eight times making it an ultimate recyclable paper.

VR System That Moves Your Body For You

The University of Chicago has developed a virtual reality system that simultaneously moves the user’s body while the VR is on.

The VR uses soft pads placed behind the neck instigating an electrical muscle stimulation that moves the player’s body. In a demonstration, the player’s head moved from the line of punch in a boxing game that showed how quick and safe these signals were providing an immersive experience.

Additionally, the system only initiates an involuntary movement and not interrupting the voluntary motions thus avoiding any risk of injury. Researchers feel that this development could change the VR & AR experiences of people to a great extent.
