Wondering why the market took a sudden dump yesterday? 💩

Here's a quick run down of the market conditions and what caused them. 👇

On the 17th of August Bitcoin plummets by -9% in 4 minutes. This was primarily caused by 2 main news releases. 📉

1: Evergrande (Chinese Property Developer) files for bankruptcy.
2: SpaceX supposedly sells all their $373 million in bitcoin

A news article from WSJ is released describing what SpaceX has done with their crypto in the past, and in no way states SpaceX sold it. Media companies begin to report as if they had sold it.

Last month it was also reported by Tesla that they still hold all their cryptocurrencies. 🙌

A few minutes after the BTC crash another headline is released, stating that the "SEC set to greenlight ETH futures ETF". While this in itself is not very special, as BTC has had an ETF since 2021, ETH does recover after the dip.📈
