How does Triall fuel the micro-economy of its ecosystem? 🌐
As part of growing our blockchain-enabled digital ecosystem for clinical trials, Triall will introduce a two-token system consisting of our main utility token TRL and its internal counterpart T-CRED. Our token system is designed to facilitate fair and equitable sharing of benefits and access among all stakeholders in the ecosystem by enabling P2P compensation, governance, and community engagement. Put differently, it lays the groundwork for a self-sustaining ecosystem in which a multi-stakeholder community is incentivized to create and capture value.
Some of the core utilities of our two-token system:
✅ Means of payment for Triall solutions
✅ P2P compensation of clinical trial stakeholders
✅ Community engagement & platform maintenance

While TRL will be a publicly tradeable token with various utilities, T-CRED will exclusively serve as a means of payment for Triall solutions and can only be created by converting TRL at a fixed conversion rate of $ 100. We often get questions on how COVID-19 impacted our business and the clinical trial industry at large.
The pandemic has made the value of clinical trials and their role in the introduction of new vaccines and therapeutics to society more evident than ever.
Moreover, the pandemic will likely have a lasting impact on the clinical trial operating model as many stakeholders have been forced to work remotely and digitize key trial activities. This industry-wide and global phenonemon has accelerated the adoption of virtual tools and mobile technologies at a pace that was previously unimaginable.
This ultimately begs the question: what will be considered the ‘new normal’ in clinical trials?
At Triall, we strongly believe it will be a more decentralized approach to clinical research where digital tools are used to strengthen our procedures in the real ‘physical’ world. We believe emerging technologies such as blockchain can be used to help industry professionals work more efficiently, ultimately shortening timelines and redirecting focus on those aspects requiring the highest level of attention, such as patient safety and well-being.

Today, we'd like to introduce Triall co-founder and head of product design Mark van der Waal!
Mark combines a practical and academic background in health technology innovation. As a PhD candidate he has developed models to leverage ‘hidden’ intangible resources in processes of biomedical innovation. His thinking on a blockchain-enabled model for international cooperation and data-sharing to accelerate R&D response to infectious disease outbreaks was published in Science.
Besides his research, Mark has worked as a consultant, assisting biomedical innovators in mapping the optimal route for growth. Mark is a passionate (self-taught) graphic designer, and has been involved in UI / UX design projects for years.
>Fun Fact: Mark travelled from Nairobi (Kenya) to Cape Town (South Africa) on a bicycle 🚲
Mark on Triall: “Blockchain and decentralized identity technologies provide incredible opportunities for improving the way we organize clinical research, and our digital world at large. But they are means after all and not ends in themselves. I’m motivated to apply these technologies as enablers of great user-centered solutions."

We intend to engage our community in the decision-making and governance of the ecosystem by putting topics up for voting. Moreover, we’re introducing a unique investment vehicle called the Triall Community Fund (TCF), which will comprise 10% of the total TRL token supply.
The TCF will help the Triall ecosystem grow globally through community-sponsored projects, such as TLR (mobile) wallets, applications, token integrations with other networks, marketing campaigns, promotional websites, bounty programs, or any other initiative that reaches a majority vote.
After the initial pool of 10% of TRL tokens has been depleted, part of the sustainable operating income of Triall may be reinvested into the TCF.
