Mondo Reale: designing a temporary space
Mondo Reale is an exhibition in Milan organized by "The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain" in July 2022 as part of the 23rd International Exhibition Unknown Unknowns. An introduction to Mysteries.
The exhibition was crafted by Formafantasma, a studio known for its research-based approach with a special attention to socio-historical and ecological outlook on design. According to the authors, the exhibition space responded to the primary question:
what is reality in the context of a fabricated exhibition?
While building up a new space, the studio reused the white walls that remained from the previous exhibition and restructured the spaces with paper. All the materials for the pavilions, mostly borrowed or recycled, were used to emphasize the connection between the different works of seventeen international artists, mathematicians, physicists, and philosophers.

by Alina Aboymova
The author illustrates the everyday life of an extraterrestrial being, showing that there are not so many differences between humans and aliens, even though sometimes the latest are rejected for their appearance.
→ see more of the alien's terrestrial routine🛸

Exhibition posters and more: exploring the work of Philippe Apeloig in today’s #daily_art
"My goal is to pinpoint an emotional feeling in the design. I don’t immediately know what I shall do. I do my utmost to focus but my attention wanders aimlessly at first: I let things float by me — images, objects, things I’ve read, sounds. I’m active by being receptive. I never have a preconceived idea."

BIOMIMICRY IN DESIGN:
transferring solutions from nature to technology
Biomimetics is an interdisciplinary field that serves as an umbrella approach utilised in multiple professional areas to describe designs and inventions that mimic biological processes.
The biomimetic design method was applied by Audi to their lightweight aluminium castings. Mimicking the structure of the elephant skull, these castings achieve exceptional rigidity while also allowing for freedom of design.

Learning to see, then, at a certain point, learning not to see. To keep a fresh eye, which needs some kind of concentration. I am permanently nourishing myself in the art world—not necessarily the contemporary art world—to find parallels.
