I don’t think routine is bad or boring. Comfortable and clear routine is what I’ve been trying to build up for years.

It helps me to keep order at work and in all kinds of things, like "I know what comes next, and it’s the kind of rhythmic movement that keeps me on track".

My motto is:

don’t try to invent anything before you have studied enough of the heritage.

I took up type design only after I’d seen some old letters on early 20th-century signs.
