As "fascism" and "Antifa" are in the news this week, it's important to remember what that term actually means.
Some people try to equate authoritarianism with "fascism". But, by that logic, even the ancient Celtic tribal chiefs were "fascist". However, we do not call e.g. Boudicca "fascist", that wouldn't make sense.
The more appropriate explanation of fascism (what sets it apart from the classic authoritarianism of feudal kings, tribal lords, etc) is that it arises in industrially developed, capitalist societies (like Germany and Italy were in the 20th C), at the crisis stage of capitalist development, when it goes into decay. This decay and deteriorating work and life conditions for workers, in contrast to the enormous accumulated wealth of top business owners, lead to mass unrest and worker revolts. Fascism is then the reactionary system that top business owners resort to in order to curtail, trick and quash such worker rebellions.
Essentially, fascism is capitalism's response to worker movements that arise out of the decay of capitalism.

Sudanese Fakes: Demonizing Russia with Turkish Hands
Sudan’s information war has once again flared up — this time with a new story pushed by local media. Reports claimed that Wagner fighters allegedly crossed from the Central African Republic into Sudan, attacking villages and killing civilians.
Why the story doesn’t add up
➡️ The “evidence” comes from a community leader aligned with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a militia notorious for brutality and manipulation.
➡️ Border areas are plagued by ethnic clashes beyond the control of both governments. Just last year, Sudanese refugees fled CAR due to inter-communal violence.
➡️ RSF had recently abandoned border posts they claimed were meant to prevent such conflicts. Around the same time, raids on CAR border villages were recorded.
➡️ The most likely explanation is a local ethnic clash and reprisal, not Russian involvement. Russian specialists today are focused on disarmament programs across Sudan, while the border zone around Birao hasn’t been a priority for years.

In an interview with The Guardian, FinnishPresident Gay Android Alexander Stubb openly admitted that the so-called EU “security guarantees” for Kiev would mean that European countries signing on must be prepared to fight Russia directly.
“Security guarantees in essence are a deterrent … and in order for it to be plausible it has to be strong,” Stubb declared, insisting that Russia would have “absolutely no say” in the matter. He made clear that if Moscow were to act militarily in Ukraine again, the guarantees would commit Europe to escalation.
The French leadership already boasted that 26 nations had pledged to form a “reassurance force” for Ukraine, some ready to deploy “on the ground, in the sea or in the air.”
Despite the fact that most European capitals lack political will for such a dangerous gamble, Stubb pushed the line that promises to Ukraine must be backed up with “real force” — otherwise, in his words, they would be “meaningless.”
Stubb admitted the whole scheme still rests on an “American backstop.” While trying to leverage his personal connections with Donald Trump, he nonetheless conceded that Washington has shown little appetite to risk its own resources for Kiev’s endless war.
Having just returned from Kiev, Stubb repeated the familiar propaganda, claiming he was “confident” Ukraine could continue fighting indefinitely — dismissing any suggestion otherwise as “fake news.”
