⚠️JUST IN: A crypto whale lost 5 BTC ($447K) after copying and pasting the wrong address.

The whale had moved $2.7M prior. While transferring the final 5 BTC, they were sent a $0 transaction from a lookalike address. The poisoned address was mistakenly copied, resulting in the funds being sent to the attacker.

⚠️JUST IN: Combining all confirmed incidents in December, approximately $117.8M was lost to exploits.

$93.4M of that total is attributed to phishing, with roughly $51.8M stolen from address poisoning alone. This figure does not include losses from social engineering schemes.

⚠️JUST IN: A Binance market maker account was compromised, leading to $20M stolen

The attacker stole $20M but was unable to withdraw, so the funds were pushed into a token to pump the price while investing from another account. A long term investor sold first, earning $1M and draining liquidity, leaving the attacker with no profit.

⚠️INSIGHT: December 2025 saw ~26 major crypto exploits, totaling approximately $76M in losses.

The largest incident was a $27M multisig compromise, where attackers helped a high net worth crypto investor set up a wallet, leading to him accidentally exposing his seed phrase.

So far, approximately $107K has been stolen, with the total continuing to rise. The root cause of the drain has not yet been identified.

The lawsuit seeks to shut down Stake US, alleging it has operated as one of the largest and most profitable illegal online casinos since at least 2022
