🔊 Hi all, Data Phoenix is speaking!

Just FYI, we’re rescheduling our weekly digests to be released on Mondays.

Why do we change the dates, again? The answer is, because we want you to be comfortable. The digest is supposed to be read when you have time, or when you’re actually looking to learn smth. new. Mondays may be a good option to look up stuff, but we’ll keep adapting for better usability.

P.S. If you have any suggestions, feel free to drop them down below. Your feedback is always welcome!

Stay tuned!💥

💥Greetings from Data Phoenix!
We wish you a great week and an amazing day ahead! Today, we’ll talk about Jürgen Schmidhuber
You may know him already from his lab's Deep Learning Neural Networks based on ideas published in the "Annus Mirabilis" 1990-1991 and that have revolutionized machine learning and AI.

In the middle of 2010, they were installed on 3 billion devices, and used billions of times per day through users of the world's most valuable public companies; e.g., for a greatly improved speech recognition on all Android phones, machine translation through Google Translate and on Facebook, Apple's Siri and Quicktype on all iPhones, answers of Amazon's Alexa, and numerous other applications.

In 2011, Jürgen’s team was the first to win the first official computer vision contest by using deep neural networks, with superhuman performance. In 2012, they had the first deep NN to win a medical imaging contest (cancer detection).
