According to him, the ideological core of cryptocurrencies — cypherpunk anarchism and decentralization — has been lost: today, BTC is convenient even for the FBI, which indicates full institutionalization.
Thiel admitted that he still holds a small position but has lost faith in Bitcoin as a tool of freedom: “It seems we didn’t get a revolution — we got a BlackRock ETF instead.”

The decline in interest toward memecoins has led to reduced user activity, though Solana still maintains a strong position in DeFi with a total liquidity of around $10 billion.

Yet despite this apparent “friendship,” Bitcoin doesn’t really benefit from the stock market’s strengths; it tends to move in sync with it mainly when things are getting worse.
The analysts also emphasized that this kind of negative asymmetry — when an asset reacts to the downside but doesn’t join in on the upside — has historically appeared not near market tops, but closer to the bottom.

Back in March, when BTC dropped to $84 000, CZ mentioned he was working on a draft of his book with 114 000 words — and about a month later, Bitcoin rose, broke through $114 000, and reached new highs.
On November 8, with BTC around $103 000, he referred to 97 000 words and 300 pages. After BTC briefly fell to $96 000, it bounced back to $97 000, and Zhao added: “Every bottom feels like the end of the world. But time goes on.”
Now users are speculating whether there’s a hidden meaning in his posts — and particularly what the number 300 might signify.

The Bitcoin system turns out to be socially useful and valuable, so node operators will feel like they're making a beneficial contribution to the world through their efforts (similar to various projects where people voluntarily donate their computing power for good causes).
In this case, I think simple altruism may be enough to keep the network running properly.
This is very attractive from a libertarian point of view if we can explain it correctly. Though I'm better with code than with words.

🧬 Adam Back explained that quantum computers pose no threat to Bitcoin for at least the next 20–40 years — if ever. Post-quantum signatures already exist (for example, SLH-DSA, standardized by NIST), and they can be gradually incorporated into the protocol.
According to him, Bitcoin will have plenty of time to prepare long before truly cryptographically dangerous quantum machines appear.
