🤝Two days ago, there was an informal meeting of the foreign ministers of NATO member countries, during which the prospects of Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance were actively discussed.

💭«Everyone understands that Ukraine's future is in NATO, because Ukraine is part of the western security architecture. Virtually everyone agreed that it is necessary to create a Ukraine-NATO Council,» Rau said after the meeting in Oslo.

🤔At the same time, the minister noted that diplomats were divided into two camps - the first are supporters of "returning to the conclusions of the 2008 Bucharest summit," where there were no terms and procedures on the way to the alliance, while the second believe that the terms of Ukraine's entry into NATO and the obstacles the country has to overcome should be determined "as it approaches the military and political structure of NATO".

🗣«We debated for a certain period of time between the Vilnius and Washington summits, what we expect from Ukrainians on this path of convergence with NATO, and even - in the middle of this period, say, in November - for NATO countries to make this assessment of the progress Ukraine has made during this time. So far there is no consensus on this,» Rau added.

🇬🇧The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, also commented on the discussions about Ukraine's entry into the alliance:

💭«I agree with the Secretary General of NATO: Ukraine's rightful place is in NATO <...> We want to ensure that we have implemented security measures for Ukraine in the long term, so we send a very strong signal to vladimir putin that we are not going anywhere <...> We are here to stay, and we will continue to support Ukraine not only now but also in the years to come,» the prime minister told journalists during a press conference in Moldova.
