The U.S. Navy announced today that it has selected the LST-100 produced by the Dutch shipbuilding company Damen Group to be the basis of its new class of Medium Landing Ships (LSM), which is currently planned to consist of thirty-five vessels, and would be essential for future island-hopping operations against pear adversaries like China in the Indo-Pacific. Construction on the Navy’s first LST-100 is expected to begin in 2026, with delivery of that ship in 2029. Last November, the Australian Navy also selected the LST-100 for its next class of LSMs, to be produced by Australian shipbuilder Austal at the Henderson Shipyard in Western Australia.

FBI Director Kash Patel has - on at least two occasions - ordered the elite security detail protecting his girlfriend, 27-year-old country music performer Alexis Wilkins, to escort one of her allegedly inebriated friends home after a night of partying in Nashville, according to three people with knowledge of the incidents who spoke with MS NOW.
The Agents assigned to protect Wilkins, members of a SWAT Unit usually assigned to the FBI Field Office in Nashville, objected to diverting from their assignment, but Patel insisted they do so at Wilkins’ request and, in one case, called the leader of Wilkins’ security detail and yelled at him to do so, sparking increasing concerns of a misuse of tactical resources within the FBI.

Footage published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security showing the interdiction Tuesday of a cartel narco-trafficking vessel containing 20,000lbs of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific, by a MH-65E Dolphin with the U.S. Coast Guard’s Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) attached to the Legend-class cutter USCGC Munro (WMSL-755). In the video, a sniper onboard the MH-65E uses a Barrett M82 .50 BMG Anti-Material Rifle to disable the motor on the fast boat, before a Coast Guard Special Purpose Craft from the Munro boards and seizes the vessel, as part of Operation Pacific Viper.
