Maintenance was carried out by technicians from the 405th Army Field Support Brigade and the European Logistics Support Center. Thirty vehicles were issued from the Coleman Army Prepositioned Stocks-2 (APS-2) warehouse in Mannheim, and the rest after maintenance in Kaiserslautern and Vilseck.

⚔️🇺🇲 Raytheon Company (RTX) has received a $205 million contract from the U.S. Navy to continue production, modernization, and repair of the Phalanx CIWS close-in weapon system. Work will be carried out until 2029 at facilities in Louisville (Kentucky) and other sites across the U.S.
📌 Phalanx CIWS is a rapid-fire artillery system with radar guidance, designed to intercept anti-ship missiles, UAVs, and other close-range threats.
▪️ installed on all U.S. Navy surface ships;
▪️ exported to 24 allied countries;
▪️ proven effective in combat: in January 2024, the destroyer USS Gravely (DDG-107) intercepted a Houthi missile in the Red Sea using Phalanx.
