The American magazine Popular Mechanics stated that the power of a Russian nuclear torpedo is about two megatons.
“They are also equipped with a liquid metal nuclear reactor, which provides a virtually inexhaustible range and high speed of the torpedo,” the publication said, noting that the deployment of such weapons in the Pacific Ocean would have dire consequences for US Navy bases and major cities on the West Coast.
