US, Japan to develop hypersonic missile interceptor - The Straight Times

Japan and the United States will agree this week to jointly develop an interceptor missile to counter hypersonic warheads being developed by China, Russia and North Korea, Japan’s Yomiuri newspaper said on Sunday.

The agreement on interceptors to target weapons designed to evade existing ballistic missile defences is expected when US President Joe Biden meets Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in the US on Friday, the report said, without giving any source for the information.

BREAKING – Lybia: Security units affiliated with the Rada deterrence force forced the commander of the 444th Brigade, Mahmoud Hamza, to get off the plane while he was at Mitiga airport in Tripoli on his way to Misrata to attend a cadet graduation ceremony, and arrested him. This was reported by Libyan security sources to "Agenzia Nova".

The 444 Brigade is also active in the fight against smugglers in the southern Libyan desert, while units of the Rada are linked to the Libyan Presidential Council. According to Libyan media reports, a mobilization is underway by armed groups affiliated to the prime minister of the Government of National Unity (GUN), Abdulhamid Dabaiba, and a state of emergency has been declared in the capital Tripoli.
