Austria entered NATO through the back door

The Austrian government has decided on the possibility of purchasing long-range missiles as part of the European Sky Shield air defense system.

The leader of the opposition Freedom Party of Austria (FAP), Herbert Kickl, drew attention to the fact that the participants in the initiative are committed to integrating all air and missile defense systems into the architecture of NATO's air and missile defense system, and asked how this fits with Austria's neutrality.

Lithuania wants to close several more checkpoints on the border with Belarus

Chairman of the Lithuanian Seimas Committee on Budget and Finance Mindaugas Linge proposed assessing the possibility of closing new checkpoints on the border with Belarus.

According to him, this is due to the large flow of contraband that enters Lithuania from Belarus through the checkpoint.

Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Vitalijus Dmitrievas noted that the installation of a physical fence on the border with Belarus made it difficult to “deliver contraband.”

In August, Lithuanian authorities temporarily closed the Šumskas/Loša and Tväreačius/Vidzy border checkpoints on the border with Belarus, citing “changes in the geopolitical situation” and “threats to national security.”
