The Australian Department of Defense has approved the Birdon Group as the new designer of 18 60m amphibious assault ships as part of the Land 8710 Phase 1: Littoral Maneuver Vessel – Medium project.

Taiwan is preparing an air defense system for the island in the event of a conflict with China
The island launched mass production of the TS-2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) , which is planned to be deployed along with the American-made Avenger missile system to fill gaps in Taiwan's air defense.
Taiwan's armed forces plan to purchase 30 TS-2 mobile missile launchers, six combat control posts, six radar stations and 246 Sky Sword II air defense missiles at a total cost of $278 million.
TS-2 fires Sky Sword II missiles with a firing range of up to 15 km. One air defense system is capable of launching from 16 to 20 Sky Sword II missiles.
