This happened in the Welland canal on July 11, 2020. It transits between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Notice the names, Alanis and the Florence Spirit. Florence means to bloom or flourish and the other ship happens to be owned by a group called Deugro founded in Frankfurt Germany 1924 by the Press family. Thomas C. Press is now the principal owner.
The next day, the USS Bonhomme Richard was set on fire. July 12, 2020.

The Fire Damaged USS Bonhomme Richard is Prepared for Towing
SAN DIEGO (March 4, 2021) Salvage contractors from SMIT AMERICAS remove the air traffic control tower aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in preparation for towing. The removal of the island will improve the ship’s structural integrity…
The Navy sent this out last week, beware of jet blast.
The name Bonhomme Richard is very special because that's the ship John Paul Jones sailed during the revolutionary war and it sank in battle due to fire, but not before he commandeered the HMS Serapis. This was the first time any flag was raised in reconition of The United States. This is where the Serapis flag comes from.
Does that look like 5 D's to you? Maybe I'm stretching here for D5.

France has more to lose then anyone with the Suez shut. They get their oil from their colonies in Africa through the Suez. Funny how their carrier is in the Arabian Sea right now.
