Solon traveled to Egypt for the search of knowledge. He visited a temple in the city of Sais.

The story of Atlantis was shared with Solon from an Egyptian priest from the Temple.

The priest was Sonchis of Sais.

Solon was told about the powerful and ancient civilization that reached from northern Europe and stretched across the Sahara.

This means the Egyptians started as the Atlanteans.

But why would the Atlanteans want to conquer the Sahara?

Well, when the civilization was in power, the desert was a tropical paradise with massive lakes and rivers.

Evidence can been seen that there was water erosion from centuries of rainfall at the Sphinx in the Giza plateau.

The ancient lake and river system of the Sahara was enormous and included the largest lake (Mega Chad) and the longest river (Nile).

So if the Sahara was tropical, then where was Atlantis located?

In Plato’s Critias and Timaeus, Plato said, “The main city of Atlantis consists of concentric circles of water and land.”

Plato said, “There were alternate zones of sea and land, larger and smaller, encircling one another, there were two of land, and three of water, which were turned as if with a lathe each having its circumference equidistant every way from the center”.

Plato said, “The mountains of the island of Atlantis was celebrated for their number and size and beauty. The surrounding mountains of the city flowed with rivers. This part of the island looked toward the south and was sheltered form the north.”

☑️Mountains to the North
☑️Mountains flowed with rivers
☑️Opening to the South
☑️Part of the Sahara Civilization

Is the ‘Eye of the Sahara’ (Richat Structure) located in Mauritania.

The ‘Eye of the Sahara’ is 24km across and 48 km across to the outer mountains. It wasn’t discovered until 1965 on the Gemini 4 mission from space.

Plato used a measurement called Stadia, where 1 = 607ft. He said the Diameter of Atlantis was 127 Stadia so 127 * 607ft. = 77,089 ft. = 23.5 km.

The exact diameter of the ‘Eye of the Sahara’. Using a water level software, you can see what the island used to look like back in time.
