For Addis Ababa, for the city that I grow up and become a man, I would design a typeface based logo, which will express its history and heritage well.

when it comes to Addis, For Addis Ababa, for the city that I grow up and become a man, I would design a typeface based logo, which will express its history and heritage well. Tell me your suggestion on making this as a full font family (Spoiler alert, I am already working on it 😉 🤫 )
.
Behailu from TypeHabesha is working on a typeface (font) "Addis Ababa" inspired by our challenge. 🔥
Can't wait brother!⚡

Addis Ababa has plenty of landmarks, both classic and new ones. There is 4 Kilo, Yekatit 12, Biherawi (I have not even lived here long enough to see them all 😁), plus newer ones like the Science Museum and Nigd Bank and that is just a few! Drop more in the comments.

From Mercato’s first trade to the midcity office workers, It’s the grandmother selling kolo at dawn, her laughter sharper than the mountain air. It’s the tech founder burning midnight oil under the glow of the moon. It’s the azmari poet strumming a krar in a dim-lit bar, turning struggle into song. Its the Ride Hailing working Father that is getting people to where they want, for him to get his kids to where he wants.
Every dreamer, vendor, and builder—this city blooms because you grind.
To the hands that bend but never break: Keep rising
