It was the Republican Party, led by Republican Abraham Lincoln, that voted unanimously to abolish slavery. Then the leftists said “the parties have changed,” which of course was another massive lie.
The ideology of the left has always been totalitarian and fascist. Hell, they have their own "brownshirt" equivalent in ANTIFA/BLM who use physical intimidation and violence to suppress their political opposition and have zero consequences for arson, looting, assault, murder, incitement to riot, etc. have.
