Just in case you missed it - Penguin as it refers to in the military :
The penguin is most commonly associated with U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM).
Why a penguin?
•Cold War / nuclear forces symbolism: USSTRATCOM oversees U.S. nuclear command and control, global strike, missile defense, and deterrence.
•The penguin became an unofficial mascot/patch symbol among elements of the nuclear community, especially missileers.
•Inside joke logic:
•Penguins are calm, patient, and deadly when needed
•They survive in harsh, isolated environments
•“They don’t fly… but they do launch” (a reference to ICBMs)
Important distinction
•It appears on morale patches, challenge coins, and unit culture items, particularly tied to:
•ICBM crews
•Nuclear command-and-control units
•Strategic deterrence culture
