Mexican special forces received specialized training from US Navy SEAL instructors to prepare for the raid against Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes (El Mencho).

Last year, remember, the Trump administration allowed 17 family members of Ovidio Guzmán López—a leader in the SINAOLA CARTEL and son of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán—to enter the United States as part of a COOPERATION deal, with Guzmán López providing information on rival criminal organizations to U.S. authorities in exchange for the family's relocation.
