Lincoln made Thanksgiving a national holiday in the middle of one of the darkest times of our nation. In the middle of a civil war in which we lost a large portion of the population. Brother vs brother and family vs family. There was hunger and hardships. He did it to raise the sprit of our nation to give thanks for what we have to be grateful for all of God's blessings.
They have turned that into by programing us to think things that we do not have and want through Black Friday and Christmas.
So let's give thanks for everyone who is dark places and alone or our military fighting for this away from there families.
