190 years ago today, on February 8th, 1836, David Crockett arrived at the Alamo. His arrival was celebrated by the defenders. He brought with him fifteen Tennessean Volunteers.
Crockett was famous for many reasons: he fought bravely in the creek wars, was a skilled hunter and marksman, and had a deeply controversial political career. His many exploits led to many more tall tales told about him, making him arguably one of America's first celebrities.
All that said, what truly made Crockett special was this: Crockett showed up. He was always among the first pushing the frontier and fighting for what he believed in. For this reason, he personally volunteered to defend the Alamo's south palisade, the fort's weakest point.
Men like Crockett built America. Men like him can do it again, but only if we organize and show up. It's not enough to be a 'group chat nationalist', you need to be active and organize with likeminded people. Nobody has ever achieved success whether in business, politics, times of war or revolution on their own. Get active.
