"Tradition does not mean that you never do anything new, but that you will never fall below the standard of courage and conduct handed down to you. Then tradition, far from being handcuffs to cramp your action, will be a handrail to guide and steady you in rough places."

This is clearly an effort at GOTV for black men. It’s a meme off of a viral video that, ironically enough, became popular because it showed how shallow women are when choosing a partner. Therefore, if anyone recognizes this format from the original videos, they’re already primed to side with the man and not the women. Strike 1.

Secondly, this dude represents .01% of the American population as a 6’5” black man making six figures. Everyone intuitively understands this, which makes their decision to reject him even harder to believe and reinforcing the audience’s primed response to side with him over the women. Strike 2.

Finally, black women are regularly rated the LEAST desirable partners by all racial groups, including black men. This further undermines the ad. Strike 3.

Bonus: usually in advertising / persuasive mass communication you want the audience to identify with the main character. “That could be me!” kind of thing. If you smoke this cigarette, women will love you and men will want to be you, kind of thing. This ad breaks this rule. First of all, the main character is unrelatable to the target audience: he makes $100k+/year. The AVERAGE black man makes $35k/year, which means at half make less than that. So there’s no way any black man watching this ad is going to sit there and sympathize with this dude who makes that much money. They’re probably sitting there thinking, sheeet this fool just going to find some other hoes no problem!
Also, “I’m looking for a man in finance” is a white people meme. No black man is trying to break into finance. They should’ve gone with “I play for the Lakers” or “I’m in real estate” or “I’m a luxury brand influencer” or “I’m a rapper”. Strike ♾️

The democrats suck at this.
