I started to upgrade the original externally regulated 45amp 1G Alternator setup for a later model internally regulated 130amp 3G alternator. The bottom alternator bracket had to be adjusted for the bigger alternator so I went to loosen it up and it snapped off in the water pump....

Needless to say to get the broken bolt out the whole front of the engine had to come off. So not letting a good crisis go to waste I decided since I was going to have it torn down I might as well upgrade while I was in there, so the old sloppy timing chain had to come off and I decided to upgrade it with a gear drive, because why build shit, when you can overbuild shit! The cast iron water pump got replaced with a new heavy duty aluminum unit.
