What a miracle to see the natural and spontaneously clicking in of new abilities. The surprise. the delight!

So it seems reading is something that simply clicks in when the child is ready. We followed no curriculum. Just lots of exposure to beautiful books. Every day we read fun sweet books together.

Over the weekend, our boy felt "under the weather" and it culminated in a small fever with a mild ear-ache. He knew to drink water, didn't want to eat much except major craving for water melon, and slept all day Sunday.

On monday AM he's feeling 100% completely recovered! ✨Popped right out of bed, bright and shiney, feeling totally energized and refreshed. 🌻

He picks up a book and wow - just like that - discovered he could read full sentences!

Thank you to visionaries in self-directed learning (Dayna Martin, Dr. Peter Gray, David J Rodriguez, John Gatto, and so many more) whose inspiration infused our family with the confidence on this path.

The magic, beauty, and delight is beyond anything we ever imagined! 💛
