I don’t think THEY understand where WE STAND when it comes to freedom

I have been asked a lot about why we homeschool and how we “socialize” our kids. I know not everybody has the option to do that, and that’s okay. But here’s my “why” we choose to homeschool.

First off, I feel like the schools today (not all, but most) have put “social” into “socialism.” Most schools are not teaching our children how to think but what to think, and not only that, most have taken God out of schools. Without God, our children will be lost. Proverbs 22:6. I also feel that our children need to be “free-range” and not stuck in a seat all day. It’s terrible for the spine, and inactivity has been shown to cause an impaired nervous system. Movement in the spine generates Ninety percent of the nutrition and stimulation to the brain.

I spoke at a school recently regarding following the guidelines put into place by the C-D-C, and my heart was heavy when I walked through the cafeteria and saw the plexiglass that separated each seat six feet from the other student. How does that teach the children to be social? That is instilling fear into the child, which is child abuse. 

What about science? We are teaching evolutionary science as factual. Also, we are teaching the kids that “THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED.” When I hear that bumper sticker slogan, I can’t help but think how far that is from the truth, let alone how discouraging that statement is to the minds of the children. I teach my children that science is observational, and the exciting thing about learning through science is we are searching for God's fingerprints.

Homeschooling is also great because you can tailor it towards the needs of YOUR child. We all learn differently and have different styles and interests.

Today we went hiking through the woods and found a huge spider web. The kids helped me blaze new trails with the harrow. Then we found some American Pokeberries and not blueberries. 🙂 But we learned although toxic, they do serve a purpose. At one time, they were used for ink, and the whole plant is poisonous, and if you prepare it right and cook it, the plant can be edible.
Not to be naive, but instead of the world teaching your children, YOU are teaching them about the world.

I pray we continue to see a massive influx of homeschoolers in the next few years. That's where the revival will start! 😎
