Some of you may know or have interacted with a reader on line who went by Anomalous Thracian. He was a longtime Dragonlance and fantasy fan who also, along with his wife and family, rescued animals...especially snakes, which don't always get much love. I'd spoken with him only a week and a half ago on Messenger, alerting him to a package containing an order from me that he had made.

A few days ago, there was a terrible house fire, and he did not make it out, nor did the majority of the snakes. I've actually seen some of the news reports, and they are shattering. He had some movement troubles, and was in the basement at the time. His wife and family were able to get out thanks to the fire department, but they could not reach him in time.

The house is a loss. His widow has set up a GoFundMe page to which I have contributed something already. I don't generally post things like this, but he and I had spoken back and forth for some years.

Alcuni di voi forse conoscono o hanno interagito online con un lettore che si faceva chiamare Anomalous Thracian. Era un fan di lunga data di Dragonlance e del fantasy che, insieme alla moglie e alla famiglia, si occupava anche di salvare animali... in particolare serpenti, che non sempre ricevono molto amore. Avevo parlato con lui solo una settimana e mezzo fa su Messenger, avvisandolo di un pacco contenente un ordine che gli avevo fatto.

Pochi giorni fa, c'è stato un terribile incendio nella sua casa e lui non è riuscito a salvarsi, così come la maggior parte dei serpenti. Ho visto alcuni servizi giornalistici al riguardo e sono sconvolgenti. Aveva alcuni problemi di deambulazione e in quel momento si trovava nel seminterrato. Sua moglie e la sua famiglia sono riusciti a uscire grazie ai vigili del fuoco, ma non sono riusciti a raggiungerlo in tempo.

La casa è andata distrutta. La vedova ha creato una pagina GoFundMe alla quale ho già contribuito con una piccola somma. Di solito non pubblico cose del genere, ma lui ed io ci siamo scritti per diversi anni.

Se pensate di poter contribuire con una donazione, date un'occhiata alla pagina. Non mi aspetto che nessuno lo faccia.
