X has updated its Paid Partnership Policy, now prohibiting the promotion of cryptocurrencies through paid partnerships. The policy also restricts content related to financial products, services, or opportunities, including loans, investment services, and buy-now-pay-later services, from qualifying for paid partnership promotions. X mandates that all paid partnership posts must clearly display labels such as "Ad" or "Promoted Content" and comply with local laws, including FTC guidelines. Violations may result in tweet removal, account restrictions, or bans. While crypto is banned in creator partnerships, it may still be allowed in X Ads, subject to specific advertising policies.

X's Paid Partnerships Policy (updated as of today):

- Organic posts (no 3rd-party compensation): Post anything allowed under general X rules. Talk freely about crypto, your job at a startup, token launches, finance topics—no label needed. That's just content, not promotion.

- Paid Partnerships: Any post where a brand pays/gifts/commissions/affiliates you (or makes you ambassador) to promote their product/service. MUST clearly & conspicuously label it: "Ad", "Promoted Content", "", "Sponsored by brand" etc. Failure = enforcement (post removal, suspension).

Prohibited entirely in paid partnerships (even with label): gambling (added Feb 2026), alcohol, tobacco, drugs/CBD, adult/sexual, dating, health supplements, pharma, weapons, weight loss, political/geo issues for commercial gain.

Crypto, financial products/services (tokens, loans, investments, buy-now-pay-later): also prohibited in paid partnerships.

Your job tweet about a token launch = organic, not paid—unless extra compensation for that specific post.
