🙈 In Tbilisi, on Agmashenebeli Avenue, a person who scolded Georgians and used foul language was detained.

According to preliminary information, the man is a citizen of Russia and was in a state of extreme intoxication. Police officers repeatedly insisted stopping the action, but he did not obey their demands and was detained under Articles 166 and 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of public order and failure to comply with the lawful demands of police officers).

🥇🇬🇪💻 At the PITCH startup competition held as part of the Web Summit, the Georgian-American company "Theneo" of Ana Robakidze took first place.

Initially, more than a thousand startups from all over the world competed for this noscript. The project has already been officially congratulated by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

ℹ️ Theneo is an artificial intelligence platform that allows us to easily and quickly create high-quality and interactive API documentation. This is one of the most successful Georgian startups, which this year was included in the program of the world's largest startup accelerator, YCombinator. Today, Theneo has attracted $1.5 million in investments - and they are one of the contenders for the symbolic noscript of the first Georgian "unicorn", that is, a private startup with a $1 billion valuation.

🍞 Yesterday the residents of Borjomi did not pay in stores for bread.

November 5, all day long, bread could be taken free of charge. The buyers did not have to pay for it, because Zaur Balaksadze, who lives in Borjomi, paid for the bread in advance in all stores.
🙂 🎉 The reason was... his own birthday.

🚑 Ambulance doctors, nurses and drivers of the emergency medical center held a protest demanding higher wages.

They insist that the salaries of managers and executives in the center have risen significantly, and ordinary employee salaries can't keep up with inflation. According to Publika, ambulance staff currently earn ₾6.5 ($2.3) per hour.
❗️The Ministry of Health proposed to raise salaries by 10% from 2023.

❗️Another type of fraud has intensified in Georgia: scammers disguised as banks.

For the last three days I have been receiving a lot of messages, and today in chats I myself saw how the link to supposedly gifts from TBC bank was actively spreading:
Good afternoon, TBC BANK gives out to each citizen of Georgia 500 lari in honor of the 10th anniversary, to receive funds follow this link...."
Obviously, that link leads to the fake website, very similar to the original bank portal, where users will be asked to verify themselves and provide a bank card data. I am sure that you will not fall for this, but you should definitely show this warning to your friends and especially elderly relatives, because in addition to chats in telegrams, this message is already spreading in WhatsApp and Viber.

👮🏻‍♂️ The court in Telavi has sentenced a citizen accused of murdering a married couple in front of their child to life imprisonment.

The events took place in February, when the employee of one of the livestock farms in the village of Kondoli (10 km from Telavi) found out that the family couple received 20 thousand dollars for the sale of their land plot. He broke into their house, demanding money and killed them. Further, he had beaten the 16-year-old daughter of the victims, also demanding to tell where the funds were. The criminal have fled, but was detained by the police a few days later.

🥩🥒 Household issues in Tbilisi on a personal example. Part 1 - food.

I was rightly noted in the comments that I do not talk much about my personal experience of living in Georgia, although I have been living here for almost four years. I will try to fix it.

Over these years, almost everything has increased in price: from food to property rentals. Only cars, i think, remain 30-50% cheaper compared to Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan. In all other spheres Tbilisi and Batumi have ceased to be inexpensive cities to live in, as they were before 2019.

ℹ️ Today I will talk about food. We do not evaluate monthly expenses, but sometimes we refrain from buying expensive goods (for example, today the price of red fish 44 lari per 0.5 kg seemed coastly for me). For everything in the photo we paid today in Goodwill 513 lari ($187; 11,600 rubles; 6,900 hryvnia; 86,000 tenge). I think that Goodwill is a store with an optimal price-quality ratio. There are not only food, there is washing powder, toothpaste, earth for flowers and a battery.

❗️Worth noting:
📍 since 2019 almost everything has increased in price compared to today: Turkish coffee was 3.30₾ and became 6.30₾, almond milk was 6.95₾ and now it's 11.95₾, sunflower oil cost about 5₾, and today it is already 10-11₾
📍 these products can be bought cheaper in stores like "Ori nabiji", "Spar" or "Nikora", but there is limited choice of goods
📍 vegetables and fruits can be found at a bargain price in food markets or in small shops, but for most of them, the prices are the same as in stores
📍 all goods and products are available in stores through the delivery services Wolt, Glovo, Moitane, etc

📊 The International Republican Institute (IRI) conducted its regular survey in Georgia on most important.

📌 I've selected the most interesting statements:
📍85% fully or partially support the aspiration to join the European Union (against 7%)
📍78% fully or partially support joining NATO (against 12%)
📍78% support the introduction of visa regime for Russian citizens, and 5% support a prohibition for them to do business here and buy real estate
📍The most important political partners of Georgia: EU - 51%, USA - 47%, Ukraine - 24%, Turkey - 16%, Azerbaijan - 14%
📍The biggest threat to Georgia is Russia - 89% agreed
📍The most respected people in the country and their approval rating: Patriarch Ilia II - 84%, Tbilisi Mayor Kaladze - 51%, Prime Minister Garibashvili - 44%, 12 other politicians scored 30-38% each
📍If the elections were held today, then the votes of the voters would be distribute in a such way:
"Georgian Dream" - 25%;
"United National Movement" - 12%;
"For Georgia" - 3%;
"Girchi - more freedom" - 3%
The rest of the parties would receive less than 3% of the votes polled
📍72% would like to see new parties in the next elections

ℹ️ The IRI survey was conducted from 13.09. to 02.10. through personal interviews in the homes of respondents using a multistage sampling method.

🇬🇪 Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, speaking at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, said that the country is disappointed that Moldova and Ukraine received the status of a candidate for EU membership, and Georgia is considered only as a prospect.

"We are so European and have been for so long that at some point we have to join this European family. I think that we should not waste time today. Georgia needs a candidate status", she said.
🇬🇪🇪🇺 The European Commission will consider granting Georgia the status of an EU candidate country no earlier than 2023. The agency is preparing a report on how the 12 priorities assigned to Georgia will be fulfilled.

❗️Unrest in the largest opposition party, the United National Movement: some members demanded the election of a new chairman and the reorganization of the party.

According to several prominent members of the organization, “We need to elect a new leader and strengthen intra-party democracy by holding intra-party elections at all levels. The chairman must have the support of hundreds of thousands party members so that new plans and energy for the struggle for the freedom of the motherland appear".
According to the results of recent polls, the rating of the United National Movement party has fallen to a critical 12%. In the 2020 Georgian parliamentary elections, the coalition around the UNM won 36 seats, gaining 27% of the vote. However, in the last two years, there have been many controversies and scandals around the movement.
